What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are made of purified hyaluronic acid, the same material that your face is made of. They are used to plump skin that is starting to sag or enhance features that aren’t as prominent as you’d like. The filler product is injected into the skin to plump lines and wrinkles and improve the volume of the skin.
How do dermal fillers work?
The fillers we use are derived from hyaluronic acid, which is naturally occurring in the skin but lost with ageing. They work by imitating the natural hyaluronic acid substance and restoring the lost volume. Hyaluronic fillers are available in varying forms and thicknesses, which is great for treating different types of lines in different areas of the face and body. We only ever use fillers that are naturally absorbed into the skin after a period of time and none of them have permanent effects.
How long does it take for dermal fillers to work?
You will see visible results immediately after you’ve had dermal filler injections. The filler then takes about four weeks to fully integrate into the tissue.
How long do dermal fillers last?
Dermal fillers generally last between 6-12 months, but they can last as long as 18 months depending on how your body reacts. Maintain your results with our ‘Planned Enhancements’ subscription package. Perfect for repeat treatments.
What happens when dermal fillers wear off?
Dermal fillers are not permanent and the results will wear off, leaving the area looking the same as it did before the treatment. You will be no worse off after the treatment and you don’t have to get it done again if you didn’t like it. If you loved the results, however, dermal fillers could become a part of your regular beauty routine.
Dermal fillers can be risky, especially if they’re not done properly. There are plenty of beauty therapists performing filler treatments at the moment and the truth is, they’re not properly qualified and have likely only taken a 1-day training course. If filler treatment is not done correctly, risks can include blindness, infection and the need for surgery if not injected into the correct area.
